Homebuyer Education

Northwest Regional Housing Authority (NWRHA) provides the HUD Approved Homebuyer Education Course at no cost to attendees. Some lenders require the completion of this course prior to obtaining many home loan products and accessing down payment assistance programs.

Attendees are not required to be in pursuit of a home loan to attend. This course is designed to assist families and individuals when deciding if homeownership is the right choice for them.

After the completion of the course, attendees will receive a certificate, expiring one year from the course date.

Topics covered in the Homebuyer Education Course include:

  • Assessing Homeownership Readiness
  • Budgeting and Credit
  • Financing a Home
  • Shopping for a Home
  • Maintaining a Home and Finances

This four to eight hour course is offered on a monthly basis and pre-registration is required. Visit our Facebook Page or call 870-743-6779 for information about our upcoming classes.

Sponsoring a Class

Northwest Regional Housing Authority is continuously in pursuit of sponsoring partners. Partners can sponsor a course by providing lunch, assisting with the instruction, or providing a monetary donation for use toward course materials and supplies. If you or your organization are interested in sponsoring an upcoming course contact Becky Richardson at 870-743-6779.
